This is the parent organization that supports the troop and the uniformed leaders. All parents are required to join. The Troop Committee Chairman presides over the Troop Committee meetings that meet once a month, usually on the last Monday of the month. Check your Scout Calendar for exact dates. There are many ways we as parents can support the troop and we believe our active troop committee contributes to the history of success at Troop 623. Ways the Troop Committee assists the Troop include finances, attending and/or driving to outings, helping with advancement, serving as a merit badge counselor, helping with communications, assisting the boys in planning outings and service projects. The benefits that the Scout receives are directly proportional to both the QUALITY and QUANTITY of parental support and participation. Please keep this in mind. In addition, encourage and assist your son in obtaining the most out of Scouting. He needs your support! |
